Arrests

There were a total of 21 arrests last week across Wealden.

We made an arrest for criminal damage in Uckfield.

2 individuals were arrested for assault in Heathfield and Polegate.

We arrested an individual for theft of a motor vehicle in Pevensey.

Other offences included drug driving, stalking, burglary, threats to kill and breaching a restraining order.

It was reported that on 19 June at around 2.20pm, a man described as wearing a t-shirt and red mankini was acting indecently outside an address in the street.

A 73-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of exposure and has been bailed while an investigation is ongoing.

Officers are encouraging anyone who witnessed the incident or who has relevant information such as doorbell, dashcam or mobile footage to report it to us.

A morning of community engagement!

PCSO Choppin had a busy morning on Wednesday 15th, out and about in the community.

She started the day supporting two local residents volunteering with Community Speed Watch in Maresfield. 🚗

PCSO Choppin then presented £200 from the Police Property Act Fund to the Manor Park Residents Association, helping towards replacing a bench vandalised near Tesco Express in Uckfield.

Finally, she popped into Victoria Pleasure Ground Pavilion to spend time chatting with elderly residents and staff.

A great morning supporting local people and working with our communities. 💙

Force Control Room Team of the Year Award

For the eleventh month in a row, Sussex Police is proud to have delivered the quickest response to 999 calls of any emergency service in the country.

The efforts of the Force Contact, Command and Control Department (FCCCD) were recognised in the National Control Room Awards (9 July) where the team won the Force Control Room Team of the Year Award. 

The awards cover the whole of the UK, including fire and ambulance control rooms, in addition to police forces.

Chief Constable Jo Shiner said: “Every second counts when it comes to catching criminals and saving lives.

“I’m so proud of them for their true commitment to supporting the community in their time of need. It’s absolutely right that their efforts are recognised.”
