Arrests

Last week (23rd to 29th March) saw a total of 9 arrests made across the Wealden district.

We arrested 3 individuals in Hailsham. One for the supply of class B drugs, one for drink driving and the third for breaking bail conditions.

An arrest was made for theft of a motor vehicle in Willingdon, and another for assault in Crowborough.

Other arrests included stalking, and wanted on recall to prison.

Op Spotlight

Wednesday 1st saw the start of Operation Spotlight, a National Police Chief’s Council campaign focusing on making roads safer.

Throughout April we are joining other police forces across the country to remind all drivers about the top five causes of those who are killed and seriously injured on our roads:

🚗 Speeding
🍺 Drink and drug driving
🚫 Not wearing a seatbelt
📱 Using a mobile phone
⚠️ Careless driving.

Our dedicated roads policing team tackles these offences daily in our efforts to keep our roads safer.

Bank Holiday

As with many public holidays and long weekends, we often see an increase in reporting, and our phone lines can become exceptionally busy.

If you need to contact us over the #Bankholiday weekend, and your call/report is not urgent, or could be answered online we ask that you consider contacting us via our website .https://orlo.uk/ZFT8V

All reports made online are triaged in the same way as calls made to our 101 contact number, and reporting online could help free up the lines for those who need to speak to us, or are unable to use our website.

Our website also hosts a library of crime prevention advice, support and more which can help save you time and help to keep phone lines free for those who desperately need us.

In an emergency always call 999.
