Remembrance Day
At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month; we will remember them.
On Sunday officers from your Lewes Neighbourhood Policing Team proudly attended a number of Remembrance Sunday parades, including those held in Lewes, Seaford, Peacehaven, and Plumpton.
Officers laid wreaths on behalf of local policing teams on Sunday, where they joined communities in honouring the service and sacrifice of all those who lost their lives in conflict; and on Armistice Day officers and staff paused for the two-minute silence at 11am to remember the fallen and reflect on the courage of those who came before us.
Safer Business Action Week
This week, we're out and about supporting businesses by offering advice and practical tools to help safeguard local retail outlets, cafés, restaurants, pubs, and other establishments from crime this winter.
Crime against a business can take many forms; from shoplifting or non-paying diners to staff theft and burglary from premises.
In addition to patrols of town centres, and visits to our local businesses to help offer support, and deter crime in the lead up to Christmas; we are also using the week to raise awareness online of steps businesses can take to help further protect themselves from crime.
Did you know there are a number of schemes to help support businesses and to help prevent crime?
From Business Improvement District (BID), and Police and Security (PaS), to Pubwatch and Shopwatch, these crime prevention initiatives have been proved effective in helping to combat crime against businesses.
