Continued investigations and enquiries led the local team to locate an unused garage in town where unknown persons had been storing the pictured bikes.

We are aware motorcycle theft has been a issue for a number of areas across the district in the last few months, and we would like to reassure communities that both our patrols and investigations continue in areas reported by local communities.

As a result of this find Officers are also advising garage owners, particularly those who do not use their garage often or are left empty to check in on them now and again, and report anything suspicious to Police at the time.

If you have been a victim of vehicle theft please report it to us online, or if you see anything suspicious around garages or vehicles call in at the time either 101/999.

Officers were called to a reports of an Audi hitting a child on Willingdon Drove at around 8am on 25 March. The 14-year-old boy suffered minor injuries.

Organised by Eastbourne Education Business Partnership in association with Eastbourne Borough Council; local Officers proudly shared details, entry routes, and personal experiences on the vast array of careers available with Sussex Police.

To help us do it well, we need people from all different backgrounds with diverse skills and experiences - could this be you?

ASB patrols continue

Late evening patrols of areas of anti-social behaviour (ASB) continued last weekend across the town.

Including along Falmouth Close, following reports from local residents around youth related ASB where patrols were conducted late evening at times reported by communities to act as a deterrent to those conducting ASB in the area, as well as to offer reassurances to residents that we take matters of ASB seriously.

As we head into another weekend, additional patrols will be out and about in ‘hot-spot’ areas of ASB; we know the effects others behaviours can have on local communities, and whilst we continue to patrol where we can; you too are the eyes and ears of your local areas, and we continue to thank residents for reporting, as well as encourage communities to continue reporting – all reports help to direct patrols in affected areas.

Contact 24/7, 365, online or by calling 101 (non-emergencies) and always by calling 999 in an emergency.

Operation Downsway

Operation Downsway launched in April in East Sussex and will run every weekend through the summer months.

The aim of the operation is to help:

-Reducing the number of people who are killed or seriously injured on the roads of East Sussex

-Reducing the number of reported incidents of anti-social driving

-Increase public confidence in local policing through increased visibility and patrols

-Target those individuals who are prepared to drive on the roads in an anti-social or irresponsible manner.

-Residents are also being encouraged to alert us to road safety issues that are impacting their communities.

You can help us by filling in this survey telling us about what’s happening on the roads in your area, and by reporting incidents to the Operation Crackdown website.

Working together with The Sussex Safer Road Partnership, the Casualty Reduction Team, the Safety Camera Team, and specialised Community Speed Watch groups, officers will provide a high visibility presence across our road network to make sure law-abiding road users including drivers, motorcyclists and cyclists can do so with confidence and in safety.

The campaign will include regular speed checks and will target anti-social driving and riding and is in addition to checks and activities all year round.

Remember too, you can report anti-social driving or abandoned vehicles via Operation Crackdown or those without access to the internet can call 01243 64 22 22.
